I Have No Idea What I’m Doing

Not good, right? Why would someone start a blog – let alone embark on the journey of writing their first full-length novel – without knowing what they’re doing. Let me tell you, it’s a long story…which is the basis of the novel on which I am currently working.

Sort of. In a way.

Confused yet?

Okay, so maybe I do know a little bit about what I’m doing, with the blogging part. I’ve had blogs in the past, mostly of the excited fan girl variety. But for this new adventure, I know I need to at least try to be a bit more serious. So here we go.

My name is Delphia Baisden. I am 28 years old and I live in Columbus, Ohio, USA. I love to read. I love to write. And for the first time in my life, I am taking my first real stab at writing a book. Currently, I have 50,111 words of a rough draft sitting in my Google Docs. The first 30,000 words took me nearly a year to write (more on that later), and the newer 20,000 have only been written within the past month. Because I finally got serious. Why?

Did I mention that I’m 28 years old? I turned 28 in June. Which means in less than 2 years, I will be 30. I am single and I have no plans of changing that. I have no children – no plans of changing that either. And the honest truth is, neither of those things bother me.

But 30 still weighs heavy on my mind.

My intention with this blog is to not only get you, dear reader, interested in my upcoming work, but also to document my impending trial-and-error as I work towards my goal.

So let’s do this thing, before I get any older. Care to join me?
