Thoughts?
After a very successful initial launch for Credence, I’m back in the writing saddle. I’ve begun working on the third draft of my next book, using the more traditional self-edit approach for this draft. It’s going well and, as with last time, it’s much easier than a word-for-word rewrite.
One thing I have had to adapt to is doing writer-admin stuff before I sit down to write. The big things I do are posting marketing stuff to social media and send DMCA’s (Credence has only been out a few days and ALREADY, lol). These tasks don’t feel big to me, but I do feel that I could easily forget to do them if I didn’t put them first. So I take a few minutes before I sit down to write and knock them out.
Other than that, my writing habit is still pretty much the same. I write in the mornings before work because after spending 8 hours at the day job behind a computer, I’m ready to be done.
Goals For The Coming Week
I’d like to self-edit chapters 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. I’d also like to finish my current ARC read, Perilous Hearts by A.E. Ryecart, ASAP, and the next one on my list, Smokin’ & Cryin’ by Grace Ombry.
Credence News
Credence has had an amazing post-release week. To my knowledge, it peaked at #103 on the Amazon US Gay Fiction chart. It’s more-than-doubled my original royalty goal for my first big royalty payment. It’s maintained an over 4.5-star rating on both Goodreads and Amazon. And as of yesterday morning, it’s moved 100 units including ebooks, paperbacks, and Kindle Unlimited borrows.
So far, Credence has been reviewed by Bayou Book Junkie, The Blogger Girls, and MM Midnight Cafe. It was also the Fresh Banana on this week’s Top to BOTM podcast.
Needless to say, it’s doing great and I am thoroughly in awe. If you’d like purchase Credence – or borrow it with your Kindle Unlimited membership – you can do so HERE.
Note to Self
We’re actually doing the thing. Holy sh*t.
