Thoughts?

Hey there. I know I was quiet last week, other than revealing the cover, release date, and preorder link for Blind Faith. Tis the season for stomach bugs. Rest assured, I was still researching topics for my next book, to the point of likely worrying my FBI/NSA agent (I’M ONLY PLOTTING A BOOK, JERRY, I PROMISE). I can’t reveal too much of what I’m researching because not only would it spoil the book I’m preparing to write, but it would spoil parts of Blind Faith as well. I’m not sure how many dedicated readers I have yet, but I don’t want to upset anyone by sharing too much.

That said, other than finishing a podcast, reading a book (one I physically checked out from the library, I’ll have you know) and reading another piece of source material, I’m done with the research aspect of preparation. Everything is saved and linked.

I know it sounds like I have a bit more research to do if I have so much more reading and podcast-listening to do, but those pieces of research are very important to the characterization of this book’s villain, which is my next step. The majority of the characters remain the same as in Blind Faith because this is a series. But the villain is new and there’s a couple more new characters I’m introducing to Sonny & Abe’s story and I need to do character studies of them before I begin writing next month. The setting will also remain the same, but I intend to brainstorm to be sure that I don’t need to tack on anything else.

Goals for the Coming Week

Finish said podcast, book, and other source material for the characterization of the villain, as well as write up character studies for the other new characters. Brainstorm setting to make sure I have and know everything I need to before NaNoWriMo.

I’ve also been re-reading The Shining and Doctor Sleep in celebration of October/Halloween and preparation for the Doctor Sleep movie next month, so I’d like to at least wrap up The Shining and watching the movie and miniseries (yes, I own both).
