Thoughts?

I’ve felt more balanced this week with my life/work/writing ratio than I have in a while. I’ve been sleeping better at night, more focused at work, and therefore, better able to sink into my writing when I sit down to write.

This week has been a lighter writing week, but I feel like I’m finally getting into the parts of my story that I enjoy. Namely, the love story between James and Character B. I rewrote through their first kisses this week and I gushed over them as I would’ve for a love story I wasn’t writing.

Speaking of love stories I didn’t write, I finished Wrapped with Love by Beth Bolden this past weekend. I’ve already reviewed it on Amazon and Goodreads, but let me tell you, I enjoyed it immensely. Not only did it give me a little m/m holiday-themed glow, but I was completely refreshed by the utter lack of angst. Sure, Jordan and Reed had their issues to work through, but I never questioned whether or not they’d end up together. If you’re looking for a lovely, light holiday read, I highly recommend this book!

The only thing I didn’t accomplish from last week’s goals was taking another SkillShare class. Honestly, staying on schedule with my rewrite and finishing ARCs I sign up for by their deadlines are more important to me when I have to prioritize.

Goals For The Coming Week

In the coming week, I’d like to finish rewriting Chapters 10 and 11, and possibly begin working on Chapter 12 if I have time. My new comics by C.S. Pacat should come tomorrow, so I’d like to read those. I also have a book on hold at my library that I’d like to read this weekend/coming week as well, Bared to You by Sylvia Day (Yes, f/m, variety is the spice of life, dear readers). This book comes highly recommended by a friend and for once in my hard-headed life, I’m going to heed someone’s recommendation.

I’m not going to commit to another SkillShare class, as this coming week not only encompasses Thanksgiving, but also Black Friday. Wish your favorite customer service rep luck!

Note to Self

Even when I have to drop certain tasks to maintain my balance, it’s okay. Just as long as I keep pushing forward with my book and stay true to me, everything will turn out alright. Keep it up, Baisden!
