Thoughts?
First, I hope everyone had a happy holiday season and is having a great 2019 so far! I know I did and I am. The holidays were very hectic for me and though they were enjoyable, as someone who works in customer service by day, I’m glad to see them go.
I’ve been waiting for 2019 for what seems like forever, the year that I am finally going to be a published author. I am beyond excited for this year and what I believe it will bring. Somewhat serendipitously, I received my copyright certificate for Credence on New Years Eve. This was a not only a huge boost, but it felt so right to close out 2018 with one of the last pieces of the publishing puzzle in my hands.
Feeling the high of a fresh start, I reached out to both the editor and proofreader that I used for Credence and scheduled my editing and proofreading for my next book (my current work-in-progress). Barring any major catastrophes, beta-reading will happen in April, editing in June and proofreading in July. As this book is shorter and ‘not my first rodeo’, the time frame is a bit faster than it was for Credence. Also…I’m toying with the idea of releasing another book this year. We shall see.
As for draft two of my new book, it’s going well. Like last time, I’m doing a full rewrite for the second draft. I’ve made little changes here and there, but so far, nothing big. At times, rewriting seems tedious and a bit like a waste of time, but I can’t deny my results last time. Plus, even if I’m not making any major changes, I do get to see all of the little nuances and the overall story and character development closely once more before I move on to a traditional self-edit for the third draft.
Don’t forget to check out my first book, Credence! Releasing on March 1, 2019, it is currently available for digital preorder via Amazon, HERE.
Goals For The Coming Week
I’d like rewrite chapters 5, 6, 7, and 8 of my second book. I’d also like to finish The Outsider by Stephen King this weekend and possibly read Elevation by Stephen King as well.
Note to Self

Credence sounds pretty good. I’m currently writing a book about a rock band myself. I love the dynamics of music artists because so much of who they are is both projected into their music while, paradoxically, the persona of “rock star” works as a mask for the reality of their inner-lives.
Good luck with your next book. Write on.
