Yet Another Rest Period (Non-PR 2/1/19)

As always, I’d like to begin this week’s progress report by thanking all of you awesome people who’ve followed, liked and/or commented on my blog!

As you probably remember, I finished the second draft of my second book last week. Because of this, there are no writing stats this week.

So, what am I up to for the next month while I let the second draft sit?

Well, I have a few things in mind…

First, my debut novel, Credence, releases in exactly ONE MONTH! If you follow me on social media, you know I’ve already begun sharing teasers such as this one:

Also, if you signed up for my newsletter, then you either have received or will be receiving shortly, the first chapter of Credence for FREE. If you didn’t sign up, don’t worry. I plan to add that free first chapter preview to my website in the next couple of weeks.

Second, the book I’m currently working on is actually the first in a series. Now that I sort of have my bearings when it comes to self-publishing, I’d like to start tweaking and speeding my process within reason. Don’t worry, I’m not going to rush. I’m not a particularly fast writer and I know I’m still learning. But this is absolutely my passion and someday, I’d like to make it my full-time career. That said, I’ve begun prewriting the next book in the series in hopes that I can write the first draft during either one of the Camp NaNoWriMos in April or July, or during regular NaNoWriMo in November.

Third, I’d like to catch up on me. Sounds weird, but working full time and then writing a few hours each day really does wear me out. I know a lot of writers take this lifestyle in stride, but I am definitely still adjusting. I’d like to spend some of this break month catching up on sleep and taking time for me (reading, Netflix, etc).

All of that said, what am I going to do with this blog for the month? I’ve already told you about the apps/computer programs/websites I use when writing. I’ve already told you all about the different services/professionals who helped me produce Credence. Truth be told, I’m not sure. I don’t have a previously thought-out plan for this month. So what I think I’m going to do is run through all of the teasers and previews I’d shared about Credence this far. It’s been over a year and a half since I started this journey and I’ve shared a lot of little snippets along the way. What better way to celebrate the lead-up to Credence’s release date than to share with you everything I can until the book itself is out?

If you’d like to preorder my first book, Credence, which releases on March 1, 2019, it is currently available for digital preorder via Amazon, HERE.

Goals For The Coming Week

I’ve finished and reviewed all the ARCs that were on my plate before writing this blog, but I believe I have one more coming, the third book in the Love Across Time series by Jackie North, Wild as the West Texas Wind. I’d like to begin reading that for review as soon as I receive it. Other than that, I’ve recently picked the Upending Tad series by Kora Knight back up, which I’d like to finally finish after stalling out on it last spring.

Note to Self

One more month, Phia. Just one more and then you’re finally, FINALLY, something you’ve always wanted to be. A published author.
