Keeping the Creative Tap Flowing (NaNoWriMo PR 11/22/19)

As always, I’d like to begin this week’s progress report by thanking all of you awesome people who’ve followed, liked and/or commented on my blog!

Here are this week’s stats:

Words Written This Week: 13,534

Words Written So Far: 41,593

Last Chapter of Rough Draft Completed: 11

Chapters To Go (subject to change): n/a, lol

Days Until November 30th Goal Date8

Thoughts?

Writing continues to go well and, honestly, I kind of think my choice to keep up leisurely reading has helped this year. I wouldn’t have thought so, but my writing pace and consistency both have held up so much better this year than last year. Don’t get me wrong, I still had a very successful NaNo 2018, but I don’t know…this year just feels like writing has come to me more smoothly and with more consistency. I’m not pushing myself to read a lot right now, but I’ve not stopped reading in my free time either (I’ve finished both Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix this month).

Goals For The Coming Week

My goal is to win NaNo 2019 on Monday and if I’m able to keep up with my normal daily word count goals (and all evidence to this point suggests I will), that shouldn’t be a problem at all. I’m also renting both Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson and Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix from the library, and I’d like to see if either of those grabs my attention.

Note To Self

Whatever works, Phia. If reading keeps the creative tap on, then keep reading. You’ve got this!
