When All Else Fails – Or Goes Off the Rails (NaNoWriMo PR 11/15/19)

As always, I’d like to begin this week’s progress report by thanking all of you awesome people who’ve followed, liked and/or commented on my blog!

Here are this week’s stats:

Words Written This Week13,994

Words Written So Far28,059

Last Chapter of Rough Draft Completed: Chapter 7

Chapters To Go (subject to change): 9ish

Days Until November 30th Goal Date: 15

Thoughts?

One thing I’ve noticed about this NaNoWriMo is that, even when unexpected things are happening in the rest of my life, my writing remains pretty steady. For that, I’m sincerely grateful, even if it means gritting my teeth through tears as I just wish I could escape to Sweetshade for real.

Not a whole lot else to report. I didn’t have any days where writing was like pulling teeth (like last Wednesday). There are days it comes easier and days that it’s a challenge. But for the most part, it’s been steady-going. And I’m forever grateful.

Goals For The Coming Week

I’ll likely hit 30k tomorrow, then 40k late next week. As long as things remain steady for writing, those goals are completely doable. I finished Ready Player One by Ernest Cline last weekend – and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve had a string of DNF’s since as I try to match that feeling, and I believe I’ve latched onto Boy Robot by Simon Curtis. But we’ll see, I’m not pushing myself to read anything for the remainder of the year, just when something grabs me.

Note To Self

Just keep writing. That’s your lifeline.
