As always, I’d like to begin this week’s progress report by thanking all of you awesome people who’ve followed, liked and/or commented on my blog!
Days Until Beginning the Fourth Draft (May 11): 20
No stats this week, since I’m not directly working on my manuscript.
Thoughts On Leaving My Book Alone
This time around, it’s much more complicated. When one of my beta readers tells me they’ve just gotten to a certain part or chapter, I haven’t been able to resist looking to see where they are. I don’t believe this will affect my ability to edit my book when it comes time to begin working on the fourth draft, as the edits to the fourth draft will rely heavily on the feedback I get from the beta readers.
That said, I’m not perusing my book much outside of that, so I am abiding by my no-peeking rule in that respect.
Goals for the Coming Week
Well, as you may have noticed (or read in my Facebook post), I did buy my own website on Tuesday. I am a complete newb at this, so it’s going to take awhile for me to begin evolving this blog into a proper author website. I want to begin researching this, but it will be a slow process for me.
I would like to also begin early prepping for the book I intend to write during NaNoWriMo this November. Weirdly, the title, vague character ideas and plot are already simmering in my head so this shouldn’t be difficult…*knock on wood*
Note to Self
Hold steady, Baisden. This may be the most intense part of the process so far, but it’s a very necessary part and all things considered, you’re doing just fine.
