As always, I’d like to begin this week’s progress report by thanking all of you awesome people who’ve followed, liked and/or commented on my blog!
Days Until Beginning the Fourth Draft (May 11): 13
No stats this week, since I’m not directly working on my manuscript.
Thoughts On Leaving My Book Alone
Well, I can honestly say it’s been easier this week…because I’ve begun prepping the story I want to write for NaNoWriMo! It all happened so fast. First, their faces came to me. Then their names. Then I wrote out their character studies, figured out their birthdays and their Myers-Briggs personality types. THEN I began working through Kristen Kieffer’s prewriting guide, The Pre-Write Project. And I have absolutely fallen in love with these new characters and their story. I’ve been so excited to learn about them and their story (and yes, before you ask, this is another m/m romance) that I’ve lost sleep.
All that said, I want to thoroughly plan this new book out. At times, book 1 was very difficult to write because while I had an outline, it by no means was in-depth or 100% accurate to how the story turned out. If I’m going to do NaNo and crank a 50,000 word first/partial draft out in November, I need to have things ironed out as smooth and sure as possible.
I also managed to finish an ARC of Tied Up by the Boss by Hunter Frost. It was as steamy and sexy as the first and, yet again. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.
Goals for the Coming Week
I’d like to finish working through the Pre-Write Project for the new book. I’d also like to sketch out some outline work for this book like I did for my first.
Note to Self
And you thought you didn’t have another in you… *side-eyes self* Yeah right, Baisden.
I knew you were a writer when you wrote about Charlie, follow your dreams, I am so proud of you!
