Are You Ready? (PR 7/13/18)

As always, I’d like to begin this week’s progress report by thanking all of you awesome people who’ve followed, liked and/or commented on my blog!

Here are this week’s stats:

Word Count for Chapters Edited This Week4,610

Final Word Count for the Fourth Draft: 71,895

Thoughts?

Oh man…here comes the scary part. And by scary, I mean the part that makes this all very, very real. On Tuesday, I completed the fourth draft of my book. As you know if you’ve been following along, this is the draft that goes to the professional editor.

I’m going to get gushy and self-congratulatory for a minute and tell you that I am so DAMN proud of myself for finally doing this. I started this journey two years ago when I bought my first male/male romance novel, only wanting to teach myself to write for fan fiction. That was it. That was all it ever was at first. I was depressed and stressed out and I just wanted something to focus on and have fun with between panic attacks (it sounds like I’m being facetious but I am dead serious). As time wore on and I thought more about my story and read more m/m romance novels, I realized that I could create a real, original story. I had the drive and the passion to finally tackle writing a real book.

And here I am, two years later, anxiously awaiting the moment when I hit SEND to email my manuscript and blurb to the editor.

I also finished the series I was reading, which I fully plan on reviewing for this blog in the very near future.

Goals For The Coming Week

I have no writing goals beyond hitting the SEND button on Sunday to email my work to the editor. I may dabble in a fun writing piece or two, but that’s it. I’d also like to read Vanilla Clouds by Roe Horvat, which I received as an ARC.
